Dr. Nishant Shah, MD, MPH
I went to medical school to be a family physician like my father. Growing up in a small town, I saw the impact a family doctor can make in a community. After completing medical school at Emory University and a residency in Family Medicine, I worked in the most marginalized communities locally and abroad as a Board Certified Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine physician.

I have a family history of diabetes and heart disease, and after 20 years of training and practicing medicine, I found myself gaining weight, trending toward pre-diabetes and wondering how to best improve my health for the next 50 years. Medicine told me I was fine. My numbers were "normal", but I knew that I could do better. Today, I am convinced that optimal health is built by the small changes we make in our daily life. I focus on moving my body, eating nutritious meals, nurturing my family, having purpose and meaning, and building a community that can create change.
